On this page we inform you about changes to the Meltwater API.
7 April 2026 — Bring Your Own Content (BYOC) - New origin platform added - Telegram
The BYOC API now supports telegram as an origin platform. You can submit documents with originPlatform: "telegram" and the following content types: post, comment, reply, repost, quoted.
3 March 2026 — Usage statistics per API token
The Usage Data page in the Meltwater application now shows usage broken down by API token. Use the token selector dropdown at the top of the page to view usage for a specific token.
Additionally, the GET usage/me/metrics/{metric} and GET usage/me/requests API endpoints now accept an optional token_id query parameter to filter usage by API token.
12 January 2026 — Bring Your Own Content (BYOC) - Adding duplicate detection and monitoring imported data
We've added support for duplicate detection when importing documents via the BYOC API for TikTok. This feature helps prevent the ingestion of duplicate content by checking for existing documents with the same unique identifiers before adding new entries.
For more information please read the BYOC Monitoring Imported Data guide.
26 November 2025 — Bring Your Own Content (BYOC) - New field added - user.imageUrl
We have expanded the BYOC API schema to include a new optional field user.imageUrl in the document payload. This field allows you to specify a URL for the user's profile image associated with the document being submitted.
13 November 2025 — Bring Your Own Content (BYOC) - Explore+ Custom Fields
We have added support for custom fields in the Bring Your Own Content (BYOC) API when using Explore+. This enhancement allows you to attach additional metadata to your documents, enabling more granular categorisation and analysis within Explore+.
For more information, see the Explore+ Custom Fields guide.
30 September 2025 — Bring Your Own Content (BYOC) - Frequently Asked Questions
We have compiled a collection of the most frequently asked questions about the Bring Your Own Content (BYOC) API.
22 September 2025 — Bring Your Own Content (BYOC) - unique id within a batch
Starting now, the id field must be unique within each batch of submitted documents. If duplicate IDs are detected, the entire batch will be rejected with a 400 Bad Request error.
This change improves the reliability of import progress tracking and makes it easier to spot unintended duplicates.
9 September 2025 — Bring Your Own Content (BYOC) - data monitoring
We've added support for monitoring imported documents and their progress.
For more information please read the BYOC Monitoring Imported Data guide.
8 September 2025 — Bring Your Own Content (BYOC) - data management

For more information please read the BYOC Managing Imported Data guide.
13 August 2025 — Bring Your Own Content (BYOC) - batch size increased to 500
We have increased the batch size for the Bring Your Own Content (BYOC) API to 500 documents per request. This allows you to upload larger batches of your own content more efficiently, reducing the number of API calls needed for bulk uploads.
